A rainbow in Koh Samui.

A rainbow greeted me when I arrived at this rather idyllic Bophut Beach, Koh Samui yesterday. It's nice to have a lil retreat after weeks of hustle bustle and keeping up with schedules.More photos/stories soon.xoxo Darrlingg.

Hello Pink Taxi.

Greetings from Bangkok! I know I'm in Bangkok when I see pink taxis everywhere!

I slept most of the time here. Gloomy weather plus I'm sooo tired from too much walking in Egypt. When I woke up I checked out the Siam Paragon Mall. The Central World mall (where Zen departmental store is) is still being rebuilt.

I picked up this DVD titled Gandhi. Apparently this movie/documentary won 8 Academy Awards in 1982. No wonder I've never heard of it, I wasn't born yet. Really can't wait to watch it. I'm sure it's inspiring.

Till then, have a good day y'all.I'm trying to stay awake while waiting for my 6am flight to Koh Samui. cheers xoxo.

Out of Africa.

Greetings from Aswan.

So after Cairo, I was at Sharm El Sheikh, then Luxor. There was no working internet to be found easily  so I missed the "greetings from Sharm and Luxor" postings lol.

I am now in Aswan, a quaint twon on the south of Egypt. It's rather hot here, about 40 degrees and relatively drier than KL's tropical (humid) heat. But the view is stunning, especially of the desert on the Nile's west bank.

I arrived via train from Luxor.

My little room/chalet on Aswan's East bank.

Anyway here's what Sharm looked like.

..and Luxor.

Till then, cheers from Egypt.

Greetings from Cairo.

Here I am in Cairo. It's a dream come true story. I've always always always wanted to come here.

Signage at the Ramses train station ( I arrived from Alexandria)

View from Cairo Tower. Vertigo alert!

..and of course, you can't have Cairo without the pyramid!

More photos soon! xoxo.

Greetings from Alexandria.

I'm on the African continent - it's my first time..and it's very charming here in Alexandria. There are so many old-world French-Egyptian fusion architecture/buildings. It's 23 degree here, and sunny. Wonderful.

The not-so-cool bit about travelling alone is that it's quite difficult to cam-whore. So here's an example. On timer, run and pose. Zuttt.

Everyone is so friendly and many did stop me on the street just to wish me "Welcome to Egypt". I'm here only for one night, and will catch a train to Cairo shortly. Will write more about Alexandria when I have more time (back in KL I think). Cheers, and have a good day Darrlingg!

En-route to Egypt.

Here I am at KLIA's lounge waiting for my flight to Kuwait City bound for Alexandria,Egypt. The security and the staff at check in counter kept asking if I'm a student, so I said yes. They seemed relieved with the answer (?!)

My flight-pajama attempt. Comfort wins hands down.Boo. I cropped my hair so short for easy maintenance.Just look at my 18kg luggage.

I"m quite nervous with this solo trip, but I hope all goes well. Especially with the political condition there. Anyway, here's my 18-days itinerary. It's now or never situation, I think.

From Alexandria to Cairo, then to Sharm el- Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel and back to Cairo before flying out to Bangkok via Muscat.

From Bangkok then to Koh Samui and back to KL. That's the plan. Wish me smooth journeys. I'm so excited!

1,000,000 children

On December 11th, 2010 1,000,000 children gathered in a historic world event to do good deeds at the Dhammakaya Temple, Thailand and take a pledge to be virtuous leaders. Very heart warming.

Vivienne Westwood Book.

I picked up this book last year at Kinokuniya Bangkok (as it was out of stock in KL). It's one of my treasured books ever about Vivienne Westwood.

I like to see how fashion evolved over time, as documented in this book

An album of Singapore.

So last weekend, in conjunction with Labour Day (Monday off - yeay!) I was in Singapore. I'd booked the flights many months earlier with Jetstar  for RM150 return. Quite a bargain. Except the fact that my outbound flight was rescheduled 3 times! It was quite unnerving, but luckily it's a leisure trip for me anyway. But once the schedule was confirmed, the one-hour flight was smooth and on time. Hmm not quite sure if I'd like to fly Jetstar again - Oh, that was my first time actually.

Vogue India May 2011

Not really my favorite cover. What do you think?

View from my balcony.

It's been raining a lot lately, but today it's quite cheery.

It used to be a lot greener too, but the developer keeps building and building.
